ABOUT THE LEAGUE
Since its inception in 1960, The Cranberry Baseball League has
provided a venue for the area’s best amateur, collegiate and former
professional players, coaches and umpires in Southeastern
Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The Cranberry league is a “wooden
bat” league. The Cranberry League is a member of the American
Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) and competes in the “Stan Musial”
Division. 2014 marks the 55th Season for the CBL.
Originally founded by Connie Spillane, who passed away in November
2003. Connie was the driving force behind amateur baseball in the area
for over 70 years. The League currently consists of seven teams in a
geographical area that stretches from Braintree in the north, Plymouth
in the south and Weymouth in the east to Easton in the west. The level
of competition has been and continues to be extremely high.
